Welcome!

Hope you all had a lovely holiday!

We look forward to welcoming back our nursery pupils and their families from last session who are returning for another fun packed year with us and can’t wait to meet all the new children and families joining us this year.

The times for our normal nursery sessions are:-

Morning Nursery – 8.45am until 11.55am

Afternoon Nursery – 12.05pm until 3.15pm

Please note that for the first week only we operate a ‘staggered start’ and all parents/carers will have had individual notification of this prior to the end of last term. This allows the children to get familiar with the nursery environment and make new friends more easily.

See you all tomorrow!

Graduation

Just a quick reminder for all parents/carers of children moving onto p1 in August 2015.

You are all very welcome to join us for our annual graduation ceremony on Monday 29th of June at 2pm in the school hall.

Afternoon children – should attend nursery as normal that day.

Morning children (only those going to school in August) – should return to the nursery for 1.40pm sharp.

We hope to see as many parents/carers, friends and family members, join us for this very special occasion.

We envisage the ceremony lasting approx 1/2 an hour after which time all children can be collected from the nursery to go home.

See you there!

Scholastic Book Fair…

Next week we will be hosting a book fair and we would love you to visit! The Book Fair will be open from 3:00pm-4:00pm on Tuesday 16th, Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th June. In addition to this, all classes will have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair and buy a book if they wish on Wednesday 17th June. Children should bring some money in with them if they wish to purchase a book on this day. 🙂

Our trip to Abriachan…

First I would like to say a BIG thank you to all the parents/caregivers who came along to help out. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Everyone had such a wonderful day!

We had great fun following the rainbow birds feather trail. It gave the parents and teachers a great work out as we joined in with the children; star jumping, giant stepping, tip toeing and ‘swimming’ our way from feather to feather until we finally spotted the rainbow bird sitting on her nest!

We found lots of other creatures on our adventures round the forest too. We peered into the water to see what might be lurking there, getting a close look at a newt one of the ladies had caught earlier.

While pond dipping we found teeny tiny fish, pond skaters and all sorts of other minuscule creatures.

Not only that, we enjoyed a story and hand puppets up in the mud hut before exploring its bridge, stairs and poles, not to mention the super cool secret tunnel!

Then after a delicious picnic lunch we finished off the day in the fabulous park. A great time was had running, jumping, balancing, swinging, sliding and climbing our way around the equipment before we headed exhausted to the buses.

What a fabulous day! Check out the photos…

New Additions to Nursery…

We have been having a busy fun filled time at Nursery over the last few weeks!

We even have some new additions! Some of them have no legs, some have six legs and others have two legs and are growing more! As you might have guessed they aren’t children. They are worms, ladybirds and tadpoles.

The children have loved watching as the worms wiggle their way through the wormery; the ladybirds hatch, grow and change and the tadpoles swim around eating and sprouting legs. Come and check them out!

Summer Fayre…

On Saturday 23rd May from 12.00-3.00 we will be having our annual Summer Fayre and we hope you’ll all be able to come along and support this event.  To make the day as successful as possible we need everyone to start bringing in goodies from home.  We need donations of:

  • Second-hand toys, games, puzzles (that are still in good condition)
  • DVDs and books (adults and/or children’s)
  • A jar filled with something fun (marbles, hair bands, pencils, sweets…)
  • Donations for the tombola and bottle stall (shampoo, perfume, wine, juice, gift sets, candles, chocolates…)
  • Home-baking (plates will be sent home during the week of the Fayre)

Thanks in advance for any help 🙂

Summer Trip

This year for our summer trip we are going to Abriachan Forest!

The morning and afternoon sessions will be joining together for the trip.

We are booked in for Tuesday 2nd June 2015 and will be gone from 9am-2.30pm.

To enable the trip to go ahead we require a ratio of one adult for every two children. We would therefore appreciate if you would add your name to the list in Nursery if you are able to join us on the day. Parents, grandparents and carers are all welcome!

List are up now beside the signing in/out books 🙂

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate younger siblings due to a lack of space on the buses.

Transition…

Over the last few weeks we have been visiting the P1 classrooms in readiness for next year. We have had a great time familiarisng ourselves with the P1 Teachers, children and classroom environment.

We have also enjoyed getting to know our big school buddies as they come to visit us in nursery.

Check out some of the snap shots…
